Ron Morosan and Miriam Bloom

Ron Morosan and Miriam Bloom’s works are ostensibly dissimilar; his being painting, hers sculpture- however this pair shares the symbolic aspects along with the subsequently generated mythologies via their individual working methods and concepts. Bloom’s sculptures relate in appearance to the biomorphic forms of the Dada/Surrealist Jean Arp.  Morosan’s earlier work like his wall series, was sculptural but he later crystalized with painting while maintaining closely related biomorphic shapes. However, Morosan’s motifs vary between right angles and curved forms whereas Bloom’s are mostly circular or round. Morosan’s motifs are in dialogue with the Forties works of Mark Rothko where he uses stratified layers together with biomorphic forms.
