Martha Dimitropoulou & Apostolos Karakatsanos’ place of residence located at the foot of Mt. Parnitha plays an important role in their use of pine needles from which they make their sculptures. They have recently become parents and liken the actual process of their painstaking work with pine needles to rearing a child. The couple interacts to make objects and animals such as the dogs as seen in their present series. Pine needles are especially suitable to the type of Yorkie Terrier dog they’ve depicted with lots of straight hair.
