William Corwin

William Corwin is a New York-based artist who creates cast objects and piles of objects that resemble ruins or totems. His solo exhibitions include Chasing Utopia, Staten Island Ferry terminal, St George, Council of Arts and Humanities of Staten Island, NY (2013); Mount Zion, George and Jorgen Gallery, London, England (2012); and Tanis Welthauptstadt, chashama 266, New York, NY. Group exhibitions include Terra Incognita, Castle Gallery, College of New Rochelle, NY (2013); Prophetic Diagrams, George and Jorgen Gallery, London, England (2012-13); and Rapunzel, Queens College Art Center, Queens, NY (2012). Corwin was awarded the Clocktower Grant and Residency (2011), the Online Drawing Residency at The Centre for Recent Drawing, London, England (2011), and the Hamburg Gestatelierstipendium (2010). Recent publications include Art Monthly (2013), Rooms Magazine (2012), and Sculpture Magazine (2012). Corwin received his A.B from Princeton University.
