Lyz Parayzo

Lyz Parayzo (Born in Rio de Janeiro, 1994) lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Paris.

Lyz Parayzo is a Brazilian sculptor and researcher who also works with performance, jewelry, and audiovisual. Having an autobiographical work, her research as an artist seeks to raise a public debate on trans-identity, racism and LGBTQI+ phobia. She holds a degree in Scenic Arts from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), a formation in Visual Arts from the School of Visual Arts in Parque Lage, and a Master’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Her sculptures are in the collections of the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP), Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Casa de Cultura da América Latina (UNB), and Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói (MAC).
