Johnny Illescas is a New York born 2nd-Generation Queer Ecuadorian artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Raised in Ecuador until the age of 9, his mother decided to make the journey back to the U.S by crossing the border in 2004. Growing up between Ecuador and NY, his work grapples with the intersections of culture, queerness and the longing for acceptance.
