Janet Ballweg received an MFA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1985 and a BS (Printmaking) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1983. Her work has been exhibited in over 400 shows and won numerous awards, including an Ohio Arts Council Artist in Excellence Award. Exhibitions include: Pixel Fusion, Phitsanulok, Thailand; The Sanbao International Printmaking Exhibition, Jingdezhen, China; The Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints, Kochi-ken, Japan; The Biennale Internationale destampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada; iDMAa iDEAS International exhibition, Orlando, FL; and The Egyptian International Print Triennale, Cairo, Egypt. She is currently a Professor of Art at Bowling Green State University, where she has been on the faculty since 1990. Her artwork explores the complexity of everyday domestic relationships through narrative and metaphorical structures. Technically, the work combines 3d digital modeling, 2d imaging, and traditional and non-traditional printmaking processes. Recent exhibitions include the Guangzhou International Mini-Print Exhibition, Guangzhou, China; the China Sanbao International Printmaking Exhibition, Jiangxi Province, China; Qijiang International Print Invitational Exhibition, Qijiang, China; and New Prints 2010/Spring, International Print Center of New York. Artist residencies in Provincetown, MA; Florence, Italy; and Guanlan, China.
