Georgia Lale

Georgia Lale is an emerge visual and performance artist based in New York City. She was born in Greece and graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Athens. In 2016, she completed her MFA program at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She is the recipient of several awards and fellowships of excellence. Her work had been featured in several art magazines and newspapers in the USA and Europe, such as “A Women’s Thing”, “3:AM Magazine” and “OXFAM America”. She had been invited to talk about her work by Yale University, the Dedalus Foundation, and MoMA. Her public performance #OrangeVest was presented at the Greek Pavillion at the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale.

Her interventions in public and private spaces intend to extend individual freedom of speech and expression. Her latest public intervention “Emergence” was performed at the Statue of Liberty and the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens, Greece to address islamophobia and racism in the USA and Europe.
